Blogger.com Launches Blogger Play

By Imar at Blogsolid

Blogger.com launched a new feature today. They call it Blogger Play.

All the newest photos that get uploaded to Blogger.com blogs around the world are presented in the form of a never-ending slideshow. You can pause the slideshow and view information about the blog the photo belongs to.

It’s fun to watch for a minute or two, but personally I think watching a slideshow of random photos from random bloggers is just another new way to waste time online!

For more information about Blogger Play, read their FAQ.

What’s your opinion on this? Is it at all functional?

Its one of those interesting ideas that might encourage people to find new blogs.
At the sametime it raises up all the same issues about rights management that people have about flickr API for example.
If people don’t want to have their photos shown up in Blogger Play, they have to take their blog from blogger’s listings all together, which makes people less likely to find other peoples blogs.

Since majority of people seem to ignore all privacy and rights management related issues, I am guessing that this will have positive effect on blogspot.com’s popularity as blog hosting service.
